from our little corner

well, the launch of the new business has been quite exciting!  we’ve actually had two custom orders already!!  the first, within 12 hours of posting onto etsy!  we’re working on getting more designs available in the shop, including some fall themed items.  thank you to all of you, who have encouraged us, and lent us your support & love!!    sometimes, just an encouraging word is all we need to keep us going.  you guys are incredible!  so much appreciated!!

miss G is now back in Ohio.  she’s landed a new job as a nanny, and so happy to be near her love.  we, of course, are missing her already!  she did not receive a call back from the Voice, and is now on a real break from the music. one knock down after another has taken their toll.. and she deserves some time to bounce back, deciding how she wants to go forward.  we will certainly miss her beautiful voice around here!!

mr B has started back to school.  he’s not so happy about that..  however, he is enjoying the weight lifting class. :)

I am still not finished with the laundry room project.  budget has restricted finishing part of it.  the other, is my own busy schedule.  I have hand painting to finish up, and it’s been on the back burner, as we prepared for the business launch.  after hours spent on the computer, designing & working, my shoulder just won’t take the extra work.  so, I’m hoping that as things mellow, I’ll get back to it.  really would like to have that room back into proper working order.  ok.. not back to.. but finally! :P

we heard from our eldest son last night!  he’s back in San Antonio, with his boy.. our sweet grandson.  we got to speak to him.. and his english is actually improving!!  [for those who do not know.. our little one’s mother is mexican, and speaks very little english].  with our son back in town, and little one starting school in a couple of weeks.. he should be well on his way to bilingual status in no time!!

hubs job is still as stressful and ridiculous.  it’s extremely frustrating to watch his experience & work ethic being ignored. yet, they find ways to USE him, without paying or recognizing him as he deserves.  they ask him to ‘fix’ things, but ignore his requests for advancement.  they’ve been all talk for nearly a year.  telling him he’s on the ‘fast track’ and in training to get his own store.  he proved his former manager was incompetent.. and that he was capable of doing the man’s job.. by actually DOING the man’s job, while he sat on his ass! but because they refused to get rid of the man.. hubs demanded a transfer.  for my husband to refuse to work for someone, it has to be BAD situation!!  he’s now back at original store, which means more hours away from home, and much longer commute.  his requests for actual time line, for advancement etc. have gone ignored. patience has worn out, and needless to say… he is on the hunt for a new job!

I believe that covers it, from our little circle of the world… for the moment.  hope all is well in your little corner!  blessings,  -Tracie
